Shortly before Christmas I spontaneously decided to take a four week Ayurveda Panchakarma cure in India.
By plane from Miami via Doha to Goa. From there 4-5 hours by car to Kumta in the state of Karnataka where the Ayurveda Yoga Village Resort is located.
Because of the time zones it took on paper 2 days travel time. Real from door to door about 30 hours – also enough…
A dreamlike and very spiritual place on a 7 km long and lonely sandy beach.
Just a small Fisherman village next door. Perfect retreat for inner contemplation and physical and mental cleansing.
The stay in India will be a lesson for me from the first minute on in (God-)trust, to get involved and to let go…
There were some little stories and experiences where I was ashamed of my unnecessary fears and hasty condemnation. On the other hand, this has taught me a lot.
As already mentioned, it is a very spiritual place and therefore a daily routine guided by many religious rituals.
A normal day looked like this…
4:30 Getting up / 5:00 Yoga / 6:15 Puja (prayer ritual)
7:00 silent sun rise beach walk
7:50 take medicine / 8:00 prayer&breakfast
9:00 thearapy or free time / 10:30 Chanting / 11:00 free time
12:00 Yoga Nidra / 13:00 prayer&lunch / 14:00 therapy or free time / 16:00 Yoga / 17:15 take medicine / 17:30 dinner / 18:15 Puja
or sunset beach walk
19:00 one hour open wifi / 20:30 time to sleep
With special therapies such as therapeutic vomiting something different… On these days you don’t feel really fit…. That was a really hard job…
But after that you feel great and you can be very proud of yourself…
On such days you just stay at home in your hut and wait for a visit…
But most of the time you are alone with yourself…
Of course, I also met many nice and interesting people and we talked a lot about interesting topics. From the composition of your bowel to the sence of life.
But after 30 days there was enough talk about it and I was happy to be able to move on again.
With over two kilos of medicine in my luggage I continued my journey. Unbelievable what these days had caused here, I feel physically and mentally excellent.
So let’s go – back to life. Back to Germany and this is again another history…
Namaste
